How to Overcome Camera Shyness

My very own Guide to help you over come your Camera Shyness

I know a lot of people are Camera Shy, just like I once was. Getting over being Camera shy isn’t going to disappear overnight. It’s something that will take time and practice. Yes, I know. That’s what everyone says, right? But trust me, its true about this one. I am going to share with you how I personally got rid my Camera Shyness

Camera Shy

Realize that being Camera Shy is completely normal. Look at some of Hollywood’s best actors/ Actresses, Johnny Depp, Kim Kardation, Blake Lively, Robert Pattinson, and so many more. But we don’t see any of that. Each Actor/Actress has their own way of overcoming it.

Impossible Being Cut Into Possible

Be comfy! This is key. If you do not enjoy the outfit you’re wearing, it’s going to impact your performance. You may not think that, but say your wearing a skin tight dress, or shirt. You will keep touching the dress, moving it, trying to defeat the discomfortfort.  All you will be thinking about is how uncomfortable you are, making you completely lose thought of your performance and lines.

Man With Glasses And Suit

Be yourself! I find it difficult to be anything than myself.

Sun Set

We all are going to hate this one, but watch all the footage you are in! I find it super cringy to watch myself on camera, but it will really help you figure out what you can improve and fix just by watching your playlist.

Editing A Video

Its okay to mess up. Trust me, I mess up 9/10 times. Once you get the hang of it, it’ll go quick. And remember, there isn’t anything that editing won’t fix

Nervous Man

One of my favorites is using a Teleprompter for my longer Scripts! It really allows me to read my script, while also making direct eye contact with the camera. Did I mention that you can see yourself as well? YEP! That’s right! It’s just like looking into a mirror.

Talented, Professional, Smart Female

I hope this helped you overcome your Camera Shyness!

  • Practice in front of a camera, or even a mirror at home
  • Don’t care what other people think. Crack jokes, fill the air with laughter
  • But also be serious when you need to
  • Make it more routine in your life
  • Instead of being negative, turn it around and be positive. Can instead of Can’t
